I just switched the site theme over to one based on a design I did at work. I think I’ll keep it and work on it when I get a change until I think of something better. It’s nice to have a theme that I actually designed, even if this one isn’t as slick as the last.
I know that the text isn’t very styled/stylish at the moment, but hopefully it’ll get better. I checked it in IE6 and fixed the one glaring error, which is about as far as I’m willing to go for Microsoft at this point.
I had wanted to do something a bit more rip off Derek-ish this time around, but I didn’t have the time, nor, obviously, the skill. I like his content-rich bottom idea. but don’t really have time to learn enough about styling Typo, especially when they’re changing the theme structure in the next version.
So if you notice any glaring errors, please note them here and let me know your browser/OS combo. Thanks.

As I’m sure you’ve all noticed, this site has been pretty crappy lately. (Well, yes, the writing as well, but I’m talking about the server.) I’ve been using Typo 2.06, and have been having an embarassing number of timeouts and outages.
But all is not lost - Tobias has released a new version that fixes a lot of problems and adds a lot of features. I’ve tried upgrading once, with spectacularly bad results. Hopefully, they’ll actually produce some upgrade documentation in the near future. Until then, expect more problems, followed by problems while I’m updating, followed by theme strangeness and ongoing problems.

I think I have my Dreamhost problems sorted - or at least the MovableType ones. I’ve switched all of the weblogs I maintain (no, really, there’s more going on than you realize) to MovableType 3.17, and after tweaking some templates and losing some features (temporarily), everything seems to be working again.
I’m also trying out other blogging software for my site - I got Typo up and running yesterday, but it wouldn’t import my comments from Movable Type for some reason. I’d like to switch to that since I’d finally get a chance to learn Ruby on Rails, but it’s awfully spartan. I had Textpattern installed on my last host, for testing purposes, and it was fine, but I didn’t feel like learning an entirely new templating language.
I was all set to try out WordPress, but after the link-farming incident, I don’t really trust their dev team. I do like their default template (obviously, and the work Michael is doing on K2 looks good as well. A bit blank, though.
Either way, I have a ton of posts in my head that I’d like to get up (even though my readership has dwindled to 2, and one of those is just me proofreading), and a whole redesign planned in my head. Maybe one of these days I’ll have the time for websites again.
