Save on Shirts
I think it’s clear how much I love Threadless. I mean, look at all the shirts I’ve ordered from them! In fact, I think there are a couple missing. And not a week goes by where I don’t see something I like. But they’re not the only internet t-shirt outlet I like. And - don’t tell them I said this - they’re not the only community-fueled internet t-shirt site I purchase from.
Design By Humans, which is meant to be a more designery version of Threadless, has been doing some pretty amazing things with shirts. I bought Sierra Blackbird’s Attackin’ in the Dead ‘O’ Night, and we both love it (though I’m not fond of the grocers’ apostrophe). And I couldn’t be happier with Robot Attack and its metallic ink.
But the point of all of this is that if you’re a t-shirt nut the way I am, you can save 20% at DBH with the referral code “jemaleddin” (creative, no?) between now and July 6. There are all sorts of prizes for people that get lots of referrals - MacBooks, iPhones, iTunes gift cards - but I’m just happy that I can help get somebody 20% off on cool shirts - and I hope that’s enough to push them over the edge into buying something like Concentric Downpour. My Boring Desktop
This is the desktop on my MacBook - pretty boring. I like to keep everything off the desktop, so I keep the icons huge. Things get cluttered quickly, so I end up dragging everything into folders.
The background is from a T-Shirt design on threadless.com called “Bad Reception” by Blair Sayer that I screwed around with. Notice I didn’t say improved.
Most of the Mac stuff is pretty basic - I didn’t spend all that money on a Mac to mess it up with a bunch of crap.
Baltimore Blogs
Baltimore, for those not in the know, is a hotbed of blogging:
- Blogtimore should be your source for constant Baltimore blog updates. A good interface for browsing, and a great selection of content give you hours of time-wasting goodness.
- Shaun Inman is a constant innovator - just ask the host of thieves that are constantly ripping off his design. Plus, he’s the designer of my favorite T-shirt from threadless.
- Sweetney just returned from Blogher where she joined the Mommy Blogger Mafia. And in case you haven’t heard, mommy bloggers are the new hotness.
- Matt Thomas is young, new to Baltimore, and funny. Read.
- I’ve been seeing links to Cranky Mommy for months without adding it to my Bloglines. Now that I realize that she’s a neighbor, she’s on the list!
