I’m in one of those weird blogging moods where I feel like writing and I feel like working on my website, but I don’t have much to say and the things I’d like to talk about I can’t. Or maybe shouldn’t. I don’t really know. So for now I’m going to be posting a lot of short useless things (like this!) to my blog and trying to post more of the things that were links and videos and images in emails sent to friends as entries in my tumblelog, the jemaleddumblr. Hopefully it can stop being a wasteland of my Tweets.
Usually posts like this are either followed by no entries for 6 months or 6 weeks of fevered postings. Either will be fine from my perspective.
Dear Newspapers,
I know you’re threatened by the Internet. It’s completely understandable. And I know you’re interested in getting in on some of this sweet blog action. No rules, no fact-checking, no standards. It’s a sweet life.
So welcome to the world of blogging. Enjoy yourselves! But do me a favor: if you’re going to call part of your website a blog, you have to provide a feed for it. And no, a feed for your entire site doesn’t count. A blog is an informal, irregularly scheduled collection of writings that you can subscribe to. Mixing that with your wire service articles isn’t cool.

I’m not too thrilled with blog-based self-horn-tooting, but I just wanted to share that I got some recognition at work today. Woot! I’m ecstatic: it’s nice to know that the work I do is appreciated. Plus there was some more direct compensation as well. Yay!
