I just sent this email through the contact form on Josh Barnett’s website:

Hey Josh,

Loved what you wrote about Randy - except the part about you being the rightful champ. If being the champ was important to you, why didn’t you fight clean?

Anyway, I’d love to see you fight in the UFC, but please lay off the Vitamin S this time.

Love and kisses,

Jemal

  1. Great article about Randy, thanks for pointing it out.

  2. I don’t think it’s fair to criticize a guy like that without including your street address in the post. C’mon, what could it hurt? And it’smuch more polite and courteous.

  3. Actually, from the info I’ve got on the internet, you can pretty easily locate me with very little work. You should poke around and see if you can figure it out.

But regardless, I’m not afraid of Josh being mad at me and coming to beat me up. Why not?

    Because:

    a) Josh is actually a really nice, really smart guy. Yes, he made a mistake by taking steroids, but he’s not some crazed, violent goon or anything, he’s a guy who made a mistake. And

    b) he’s doing all of this to call attention to himself to increase the chances that the UFC will sign him for a title shot and to reintroduce himself to American fans. The UFC has grown a lot since he headed to Japan, and only the diehard fans that seek out Pride and K-1 know who he is.

You see, Josh spent some time as a “professional wrestler” in Japan. He’s just trying to be a heel, and he knows what he’s doing. I’m actually playing into his hand by calling attention to his actions, but then again I really do want to see him back in the UFC now that almost all of the best heavyweights are there.
